He was lovely and extremely interesting. He did some great translating for us with the locals, did some investigating and even knocked on some doors for us to try to locate some cousins in the town of Melicuccà.We learned a lot about our heritage and region of Calabria. Took us to a lovely morning tea spot and beautiful food for lunch at Scilla. We also learned there are still family members living within the town around the same fountain as our Nonno! Many thanks Louise.Louise H.21. August, 2024.BuonGiorno Pasquale, I want to thank you for such a wonderful tour of Calabria. Both my husband and I were so impressed with Steeve. He went beyond all our expectations. As you said, he was extremely nice and so relaxed. He knew so much of the history and cultures of the your area. Steeve worked long days with us and always encouraged us to see more places. There is nothing more we could have asked for in our guide. When we went to our village to find our relatives, he was not only a good translator but also very friendly, which made everyone feel comfortable. Other areas that he took us to were so interesting.I will highly recommend your tour to friends and family who will be coming to this area. He is a goldmine. Thanks again for a lovely once in a lifetime trip.CaroleCarole M.23. May, 2024.VisitReggioCalabria’s food and wine tour unveiled the culinary secrets of the region. The guides’ knowledge and enthusiasm added depth to each tasting, making it a true immersion into Calabria’s food culture. From savoring local delicacies like ‘nduja to indulging in exquisite wines, each tasting was a culinary adventure. The food and wine tour was a perfect blend of vineyard visits and gastronomic discoveries. Exploring family-run wineries and sampling authentic Calabrian dishes made it a memorable journey. This tour wasn’t just about food; it was about tasting tradition. Every dish, every sip of wine, told a story of Calabria’s heritage and the passion of its people for preserving their culinary art. From the aroma of freshly harvested olives to the taste of sun-ripened tomatoes, every bite was a celebration of local produce, paired perfectly with exquisite wines. Again, thank you guys for the unforgettable memories and experience! GinaGina and friends, San Diego, CA4. May, 2024.VisitReggioCalabria’s tour of Puglia was a delightful discovery of the region’s charms. From Trulli houses in Alberobello to the crystal-clear waters of Polignano a Mare, it was a perfect blend of history and beauty. Our adventure began in Alberobello, where we wandered amidst the whimsical Trulli houses. These unique, cone-roofed dwellings, built entirely of local limestone, transported us to a bygone era. Marveling at their intricate craftsmanship, we learned about the history behind these UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Leaving Alberobello, the landscape unfolded, revealing rolling hills dotted with olive groves and vineyards. The culmination of this scenic journey was Polignano a Mare. Here, the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea sparkled under the sun, inviting us for a refreshing dip. The charming seaside town itself offered a delightful mix of history and beauty, with its quaint streets and traditional architecture providing a glimpse into Puglian life.
Tony’s group, Denver, CO2. May, 2024.VisitReggioCalabria’s Amalfi Coast tour was an experience straight out of a dream. The dramatic cliffs of Positano, a town clinging impossibly to the rugged coastline, left us speechless. Everywhere we turned, the views unfolded like breathtaking postcards come to life. Wandering the charming streets of Amalfi, steeped in history and culture, we were captivated by the region’s unique magic. This tour truly captured the essence of Southern Italy, leaving us with memories that will forever be cherished.
And the enchantment continued! Our tour to Pompeii was an archaeologist’s dream come true. Walking through the ancient streets of this perfectly preserved Roman city was an experience beyond compare. Everywhere we looked, we were surrounded by remnants of a lost civilization – the forum, the bathhouses, the homes – all frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. This incredible journey through history allowed us to imagine daily life in Pompeii centuries ago, offering a glimpse into a bygone era.

Thomas P., Ny12. April, 2024.Hi Pasquale, I just wanted to thank you and Francesco our tour in Amato! It was fantastic! Best, StephStephanie, NY11. April, 2024.Stepping into Matera’s Sassi districts felt like traveling through time. These ancient cave dwellings, carved directly into the rock face, were once home to entire neighborhoods! We wandered through labyrinthine alleys, encountering homes, churches, and vibrant life nestled within the cool caves.
Our expert guide brought Matera’s rich history to life. We learned about the Sassi’s evolution, from their humble beginnings to a challenging yet resilient past. Exploring these spaces wasn’t just about the architecture; it was about the spirit and tenacity of the people who lived there.
Everywhere we turned, Matera pulsed with life. Unlike a museum, it was a living testament to history. Local artisans plied their trades, children played in the squares, and the scent of wood smoke from traditional chimneys filled the air. This vibrant tapestry of the past woven into the present left us awestruck.
Leaving Matera, we carried a newfound appreciation for the enduring power of human history. This unforgettable city filled us with wonder. Thanks, VisitReggioCalabria, for an amazing tour.

Our trip to Calabria was unforgettable, thanks in large part to Visitreggiocalabria’s exceptional guide.
The guide collaborated with us to create a personalized itinerary that fit our timeframe. He expertly navigated local customs and ensured we stayed on track, even when some facilities were closed, allowing us to see more of Calabria.
He provided a comfortable car perfect for the region’s roads and was a safe driver. Thoughtfully, he planned visits to start at higher elevations and work our way down, making walking enjoyable. He also included refreshing stops for food and drinks throughout the day.
The guide’s deep knowledge of Calabria’s history came alive through engaging conversation, not lectures. We learned about the region’s long history, from the Greeks to the Romans and Byzantines, even when physical remnants weren’t present.
While a route was planned beforehand, the guide readily adjusted timing and visit sequences to accommodate opening hours, travel times, and our interests.
The guide’s extensive knowledge, good judgment, and dedication made our trip truly memorable. He was highly competent, hardworking, and ensured a rich and enjoyable experience. A big thank you to Visitreggiocalabria for making this a lifetime memory!
